Autumn Rituals in Devon
As much as I love the warmth and energy of Summer - the transition into Autumn is probably my favourite time of year. The colours, the quiet, the crisp air. It invites us to slow down again. Nature lets go of what it no longer needs, and we can do the same.
Mindful Walks
Having a bouncy energetic pup means I’m out wandering a fair bit. It’s my pause, my time to think. Whether it’s coast, moor or woods, we’re certainly spoilt for choice in Devon.
Nourish with Warm, Seasonal Foods
I like to up the stews, soups and roasted veggies! Cooking mindfully and include lots of herbal teas too! A weekly veg delivery from Riverford means I can prep some of the most delish organic weekly meals.
Journaling
I dip in and out of journaling but I’ve made a concious effort post Summer. I love a little card pull from the Inner Compass card deck too. If you’re thinking of journaling, try prompts like: What do I need to let go of? What brings me peace right now? Writing it all down can bring some calm to a busy mind.
Digital Detox Sundays
This is usually a Sunday for me, but you could choose a day or afternoon a week to unplug. I like to spend it outdoors, with friends, or prepping for the week ahead, feeling less distracted and more present.
No-Phone Mornings
This is a non-negotiable and to be honest it’s comes naturally as I cannot stand looking at my phone when I wake! I feel AWFUL! So try starting your day gently - a lil stretch, breathe, sip water, or watch the sunrise before checking your phone.
Soak in Natural Light
Autumn’s shorter days can affect the mood, right? So whenever I can, I get outside soon after waking. Even 10 minutes of daylight boosts serotonin and helps steady your energy!
With love x
